JESS COLLINS’ IMPORTANT MESSAGE ON WORLD SPINAL CORD INJURY DAY

Today is World Spinal Cord Injury Day, and former Hunter surf lifesaver Jess Collins has spoken out about hers.

A surfing accident left the 26-year-old a quadraplegic two years ago.

She’s hoping to raise more awareness for people in similar conditions, and encourage them to be unafraid to ask for help.

“Now we’re going on two and a half years down the track, and I thought, I can’t live like that anymore, I need to ask people to do things, and I’ve noticed since doing that, everyone is more than happy to help.” – Jess Collins.

Jess is hoping to raise more awareness about the condition, and encourage those in similar positions to ask for help.
