The Newcastle bus interchange located in Newcastle West is open from today.
A traditional smoking ceremony will welcome the first buses onto the new site, before passengers hop onboard.
The interchange will connect trains, buses, light rail and coaches
There will also be a pedestrian access between the station concourse, the bus interchange, Hunter Street and Stewart Avenue.
Transport New South Wales expects around 300 buses will use the terminal on a weekly basis.
There will be minor changes to the Newcastle Transport network with the route 22 service starting and ending from Stand B at the new interchange.
Timetables will not be affected.
