A unique Mother’s Day event was put on today, with a number of Newcastle entertainers coming together for an online performance.
The ‘Mother’s Day Sunday Session’ is being broadcast live on Facebook from the Gallipoli Legion Club at Hamilton.
‘You can’t all be in the room with us, but we will try and present it as best as possible, as raw as it is. It’s unscripted, unrehearsed, real, live performance, as it would be in the real world.’ – Allon Silove, organiser.
‘I know for a fact that my mother’s tuning in because I can’t make it to her this afternoon unfortunately.’ – Joshua Barnett, organiser.
‘If we can do this from a distance for the time being, then yeah, we’re all for it and happy to support the local guys and the local community.’ – Michael Cleary, Gallipoli Legion Club.
The online shows began last month to allow local artists to continue performing during restrictions.
