Five people are lucky to have escaped serious harm after their house erupted into flames in Coledale this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Cole Road just before 9 o’clock, where they found the house well alight.
Fire crews believe the blaze broke out in the kitchen.
One person was treated onsite for minor burns and smoke inhalation.
“We put two crews in to put the fire out, they made good headway and we had the fire out in about 15 to 20 minutes.”
The property was completely destroyed in the blaze.
