TWO INMATES CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY STABBING A FELLOW PRISONER

Two inmates have been charged after allegedly stabbing a fellow prisoner at a correctional centre in Kempsey yesterday.

It’s alleged the inmates, aged 50 and 28, stabbed a 26-year-old man in his neck, chest and back.

The injured prisoner was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

His alleged attackers, were refused bail at Port Macquarie Local Court today, and are due to reappear in June.
