CYCLISTS RAISE MONEY FOR BUSHFIRE APPEAL
A Newcastle mountain bike rider is enduring three days of pain, to help ease the burden of those caught up in the bushfire disaster.
Seven-time world champion Jason English has challenged himself to ride 1,000 kilometres up and down the Fernleigh Track.
So far he’s raised $3,000 for the Salvation Amy’s bushfire appeal.
“So Saturday morning yeah got up and did 250km and yesterday 250km and now today 500ks and I think I’ll feel it in next 100, 200 kays time.” – Jason English, mountain bike rider.
Riding with mates, he’s expected to finish around 10 o’clock tonight.
