MEN ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED FRAUD

Two men have been extradited from Queensland over alleged fraud and traffic offences in northern New South Wales.

Detectives from Tweed Heads have been investigating a series of vehicle thefts, police pursuits and fraud offences in the region since December.

Police swooped on a Mermaid Beach motel yesterday, arresting four people, including two men on New South Wales arrest warrants.

The men – aged 26 and 29 – appeared at the Southport Magistrates Court, before they were taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with a series of traffic and property offences.

The 29 year old was also charged with police pursuit and driving disqualified.

Both men will appear in Tweed Heads Local Court tomorrow.
