Crews have also been working to control a smaller fire, burning near Lake Macquarie’s Eraring Power Station since late last night.
Several areas have come under attack from burning embers, sparking spot fires like this one.
“It’s not directly impacting on the power station. It is obviously within the power station land – we do know it impacted on, a, a conveyor belt, ah, in that area.” – Viki Campbell, RFS.
Nearby roads were closed for most of the day.
