TEENAGE GIRL CHARGED WITH ROBBERY IN LAKE MACQUARIE

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with armed robbery, after allegedly robbing a Charlestown shop last night.

Police say the teenager threatened an employee with a broken bottle at a restaurant on the Pacific Highway.

It’s alleged she made off with cash and the woman’s mobile phone.

A crime scene was set up, and an extensive search of the nearby area was conducted.

During the search, police spoke with a teenage girl, and allegedly found the employee’s mobile phone, and cash in her possession.

She was arrested, taken to Belmont Police Station, charged and refused bail to face children’s court today.
