GAV’S WEATHER | MORE HEAT AHEAD OF SOME RAIN

Cloud over Queensland and northern New South Wales has all but cleared but the smoke haze has lingered.

The next major weather feature is the front crossing the Bight dragging in a lot of cold air behind it but while it tracks towards the region, there’ll be nothing but hot dry air ahead of it.

A grim outlook for fire-fighters with northerly winds forecast to drive up temperatures over the weekend.

The worsening bushfire situation locally will continue as the dry hot north-east wind increase, maintaining the smoke haze south of the fires for another day.

There will be some small to moderate falls on Sunday night and into Monday. The rain will be widespread.
