Newcastle city council has announced the weekend operating hours at Beresfield and Stockton Pools have been extended until 5pm on weekends from this Saturday 16 November.
The new arrangements follow a concerted community push to extend the operating hours from 3pm.
Council says the extended hours will depend on patronage, with the new arrangements to remain in place until Australia Day.
