Tamworth police are investigating a fire in a vacant home in Bligh street last night.
Emergency services responded around 10pm, extinguishing the blaze before it managed to cause significant damage.
A crime scene was established today.
“It appears that it may have been deliberately lit, it appears that an accelerant may have been used, crime scene are attending and will be examining the scene for that cause.”
Police say the damage could’ve been a lot worse, if neighbours hadn’t been so quick to raise the alarm.
