Lauren Parker has claimed her maiden world championship title in Switzerland overnight.
The Newcastle athlete secured the crown in dominant fashion, just two years after first making her paratriathlon debut.
“The whole day went my way starting off from a great swim. I felt great on the bike and great on the run as well,” Parker told Triathlon Australia.
The 31-year old finished more than two minutes ahead of her nearest competitor, after laying down a blistering time in the swim.
“I can’t even put into words how I’m feeling, I’m just so happy,” Parker said.
