IDENTITY OF BODY FOUND IN LAKE MACQUARIE CREEK CONFIRMED

Police have confirmed a body found in a Lake Macquarie creek at the weekend was that of 29-year-old Danielle Easey.

The body, which was wrapped in plastic, was discovered by a member of the public at around 10.30 on Saturday morning.

The 29-year-old had previously been living at Booragul with family, however it’s understood she’d been recently staying at a number of other locations.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad have since been called in, with Strike Force Furzer set up to investigate her death.

Police are expected to front the media later today.
