A 26-year-old man will appear in Tamworth Local Court later today, charged with stabbing a man in the neck during an attempted armed robbery.
Police will allege the man entered a home on Robert Street on Wednesday afternoon, when he demanded cash from a 56-year-old, before stabbing the man twice in the neck.
Following inquiries, the 26-year-old was arrested on Thursday afternoon at an address on Westow Crescent at Oxley Vale.
The injured man was airlifted to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital for surgery, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
