MAN CHARGED OVER BREAK AND ENTER OFFENCES IN THE HUNTER VALLEY
Charges have been laid against a 44-year-old man, who it’s alleged was behind a series of break and enters in the Hunter Valley at the weekend.
Police have been told the man threatened the occupant of a home on Cecily Close at East Maitland at around 7:30 on Sunday night, before later returning with a rifle, this time becoming involved in a struggle with the resident.
Around three hours later, the 44-year-old allegedly forced his way into a home on Redbill Drive at Woodberry, where he threatened an elderly woman.
He was eventually arrested on nearby Swallow Close, before being charged with seven offences including common assault.
Initial inquiries suggest the man was known to his victims.
