FISHERMAN WASHED INTO CAVE NEAR CATHERINE HILL BAY
A major rescue operation is underway, after a rock fisherman become trapped in a cave south of Newcastle.
Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter were called to the scene on Sunday morning, after reports a fisherman had been washed from rocks at Timber Beach south of Catherine Hill Bay.

It’s believed the fisherman was wearing a life-jacket at the time, with Surf Life Saving New South Wales and NSW Police coordinating the rescue.
