EMOTIONAL PLEA FROM FATHER OF MISSING BACKPACKER

The father of missing Belgian backpacker Theo Hayez has made an emotional plea for information, as the search for his missing son continues.

 

Laurent Hayez spoke with the media this morning, having flown to Australia to join the search for the missing 18-year-old.

“Theo is one of a kind, and we want to find him,” Mr Hayez told reporters.

It comes as new CCTV is released, which shows Theo shopping at a Byron Bay bottle shop at around 7:45 in the evening on May 31.

 

Later that night, the teenager was seen leaving popular Byron Bay nightclub, Cheeky Monkey’s.

Superintendent Dave Roptell telling media, “We want to provide answers for his family both here in Australia and back at home in Belgium,”

Hayez is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180cm tall with a thin build and blue eyes.

He was last spotted wearing a greenish coloured hat, black hooded jumper, beige pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information, including dashcam vision from Jonson or Tennyson Street is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
