$1 MILLION REWARD OVER COLD CASE MURDER

A reward for information into the murder of a north coast teenager more than 20 years ago has been increased to $1 million.

Lee Ellen Stace was last seen on Tuesday September 2, 1997, finishing up work at a supermarket on Yamba Road at Brooms Head.

Her family reported her missing, sparking a large-scale police and community search.

Six weeks later, her remains were found in the Yuraygir National Park.

She was just 16 years old.

A number of suspects were named at the time, but no one has ever been charged with her murder.

Detectives welcome any information from the community that could help provide answers to Lee Ellen’s family.
