CHANGES APPROVED FOR BOGGABRI COAL MINE PROJECT PLAN

The Independent Planning Comission has signed off on changes to the approval of the Boggabri coal mine.

The company behind the mine, Boggabri Coal Operations, previously requested to modify five elements of the plan, including drilling within an approved disturbance area.

It also means the company will be able to transport small amounts of coal by road.

The project was referred to the commission because of a high level of public interest.
