WIND HAMPERS PLAY ON DAY TWO AT THE SUMMERLAND PAIRS
Windy conditions managed to rattle some of the east coast’s best bowlers out of competition today, on day two of the Summerland Pairs in Ballina.
Battling mother nature in a series of round robins, 64-teams were dwindled down to eight pairs, who will compete in tomorrow’s finals for a crack at $11, 000 in prize money.
“Tomorrow they are going to come back and play three games, the first game will start at 9 o’clock there’ll be a quarter final in the morning, those will then progress to the semi final at 11:30 and the final will then kick off at about 2:30.”
Four pairs from the north coast have advanced into the finals, taking down teams from as far away as Bundaberg and Lightning Ridge.
The quarter finals start from nine o’clock tomorrow morning at Cherry Street Bowling club.
