MAN HIDES IN GOLF COURSE POND IN ATTEMPT TO AVOID ARREST

A 35-year-old man, who attempted to evade police by hiding in a pond on a Central Coast golf course, remains under guard in hospital.

The Woy Woy man was arrested on Monday morning, after he allegedly robbed a man at a business at North Gosford, before fleeing in the victims car.

Police say he later crashed the car at the intersection of Manns and Dell Street, swimming across Narara Creek in an attempt to avoid arrest.

He was eventually found submerged in a pond, with a bag containing cash found dug into the mud.

Charges are expected to be laid.
