MCCORMACK AND JOYCE ADDRESS CONCERNS OF REGIONAL NEGLECT

The Deputy Prime Minister has addressed concerns that regional towns have been neglected in the lead-up to the federal election.

Michael McCormack says the National Party will maintain a huge focus on regional New South Wales heading to the polls.

“We’re fighting hard for regional development, we’re fighting hard for inland rail, we’re fighting hard for more jobs for the bush.”

Barnaby Joyce says a visit from the PM is not always necessary.

“In the last campaign, the bi-election, I didn’t have the Prime Minister here until the very last day… Polling day. The reason for that is quite clear, that I believe that it is myself that will be elected or not elected as the member of New England.”
