The Premier’s office has confirmed Gladys Berejiklian won’t be attending Newcastle’s Up and Down Festival this weekend.
An invitation was extended to Ms Berejiklian after her government deemed the one-day festival ‘high-risk.’
Organisers say it came as a shock to them, with the festival yet to be held.
They claim they’ve run numerous festivals in New South Wales, without major incident or death.
The event kicks off tomorrow.
