Labor has announced its plan for a guaranteed price on milk, to help out struggling dairy farmers.
Shadow Agriculture Minister Joel Fitzgibbon was in Lismore today to spruik the proposal – also taking a swipe at local member Kevin Hogan.

KEVIN HOGAN FULL STATEMENT:
Mr Fitzgibbon is being very misleading. The vote in the chamber was 69 for Labor’s motion and 74 against.
My fellow Crossbenchers Julia Banks, Cathy McGowan and Rebekha Sharkie also voted against Labor’s motion.
They like me do not believe the ACCC is the best organisation to help our dairy farmers.
The ACCC in the past has said they do not support a base price for milk.
I encourage Labor to support my call for a Royal Commission to fix this issue.
