LISMORE CELEBRATES WOMEN

More than 250 people have gathered at Lismore’s Quad to celebrate International Woman’s Day.

The rain did nothing to stop the colourful display of dance, music and inspiring speeches.

Organiser Kate Lavender says the day is significant.

“Feminism isn’t just about womens rights, it’s about changing society so that we have this equality, we have this respect and basically all of society will benefit.”

International Womans Day dates back to 1909.
