TWO CHARGED OVER NEW YEAR’S DAY ASSAULT AT CATHERINE HILL BAY

Two people, including a police officer from Sydney have been charged over an assault at Lake Macquarie.

It’s alleged the sergeant, who was off-duty at the time, assaulted a 52-year-old and a 58-year-old man at an address at Catherine Hill Bay in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

It’s further alleged a 49-year-old woman assaulted a 55-year-old woman at the same location.

Following inquiries, both were issued a Future Court Attendance Notice on Friday.

They’re set to face Belmont Local Court in March.
