A Newcastle man has been charged with unlawfully killing cattle on the mid-north coast earlier this year.
On March 24, two Angus-cross cows were found shot dead and mutilated.
One of the cows also had a rope tied around it’s neck and it’s stomach cut open.
Their carcasses were dumped on Cells River Road, west of Port Macquarie.
Following investigations, a 19-year-old was charged with a string of offences, including possessing and using a loaded, unauthorised firearm under the influence of alcohol.
He will face Forster Local Court next month.
