BACK-TO-BACK TEAM TITLES FOR NORTH NARRABEEN AT SURFEST

Sydney’s North Narrabeen has won the Surfest team challenge for the second year in a row, leading the final from start to finish.

Merewether was looking to become the first Hunter club to win the event, after scraping into the decider.

Jackson Baker made a solid start, before Morgan Cibilic edged Merewether into second.

Travis Lynch needed something special with his three waves, but he couldn’t bridge the gap to North Narrabeen, who won by 16 points.

Central Coast club North Shelly was languishing in last for most of the final, before a huge effort from indigenous surfing legend Russell Molony edged it into third.
