DATE FINALLY SET TO DEMOLISH FOOD FOR LESS BUILDING

The countdown is finally on to demolish Port Macquarie’s vacant Food for Less building on Short and William Streets.

Owner Woolworths has confirmed work will start within the next two weeks, with the project expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The site has been targeted by graffiti and damaged by fire in recent times.

The supermarket giant says it’s exploring all options to bring a Woolworths store to the area and also showed interest in the neighbouring Plaza Car Park.
