TAMWORTH AIRPORT RECOGNISED FOR SAFETY, PERFORMANCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

Tamworth Airport has been recognised as an ‘outstanding airport,’ for its safety values, on-time performance and customer service.

The award comes from none other than Qantaslink – part of the Qantas family, which is looking to set up a pilot training academy across two sites in regional Australia.

Airport manager, Julie Stewart, believes this award could cement Tamworth’s chances.

“We hope so, we believe that we’ve got a great airport and we believe that we’re going to get the recognition that the airport deserves,” Julie Stewart, Airport Manager.

Qantas is expected to announce the sites by the end of the month.

But until then, the focus remains on a series of airport upgrades.

“We should see some movement in opening up the first new area in the next few weeks and the next but the rest of the program, we should see completion prior to the end of the year.”
