TAMWORTH’S NATIONAL STROKE WEEK FOCUSES ON PREVENTION IN INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES

It’s National Stroke Week, and this year, the Tamworth community is focusing on preventing strokes in indigenous communities.

Today, survivors shared their stories – to help others avoid unhealthy behaviours which can lead to stroke.

The risks are much higher in areas like Tamworth, and organisers of today’s event say we need to know the signs and symptoms.

“In particular we’re looking for the FAST signs of stroke, so face, has their face dropped, arms, can they move both arms, speech, has their speech slurred, and time, time is critical.”
