SCHOOL YEAR NOT OVER FOR YEAR 10 STUDENTS

The Education Department is warning Hunter year 10 pupils and their parents, that school has not finished for the year.

Far from the traditional end of year slowdown that follows the School Certificate, classes are offering year 10s a taste of life as a senior student.

As a student who actually attends Warners bay high and who has already done the bridging course, I can say that it did little to prepare me for year eleven and twelve, and as we couldn’t cover work that was actually related to the senior syllabus, was little more than a babysitting service until the school term ended. Sure, getting to know your teachers was a good, but really, the work covered is irrelevant and largely a waste of time. That said, as I’m unable to actually suggest any viable alternatives, I’m doing little more than just voicing criticism over something I could not improve myself.
