DODT TOPS LEADERBOARD ON DAY 1 OF FIJI INTERNATIONAL

Hunter golfer Andrew Dodt is locked in a four-way tie for the lead, following the first round of the $1.5-million Fiji International.

Dale Brandt-Richards from South West Rocks is alongside South African great Ernie Els at even par.

Fiji’s own Vijay Singh started well, birdying the first, but four bogeys and a double saw him drop out of contention.

In contrast, Dodt was flawless.

His round of 67 included three birdies and an eagle, as well as this par-saving putt on the last hole.
