REGISTRATION OPEN FOR A FREE TREE TO HELP SAVE KOALA HABITAT
Port Macquarie’s Koala Hospital is calling on community members to register for a free Tallowwood tree in the bid to create new wildlife corridors.
25,000 trees have been donated by New South Wales Forestry Commission and will be available to the public in February.
“So it’s a significant financial contribution but it’s got a whole tail end with the community where they take the trees and plant them and we’ve got a planting guide and the outcome from that should be much more significant for Koala Habitat” – Steve Withnall, Port Macquarie Koala Hospital
It comes ahead of National Tree Day, this Sunday.
