ILUKA AMBULANCE MEETING COMING UP THIS WEEKEND

Lower Clarence ambulance response times are up for discussion, during a community meeting at Iluka this weekend.

Many residents from the isolated coastal village are demanding the state government build a station there, despite it not meeting current population requirements.

Nevertheless – Member for Clarence Chris Gulaptis says he is feeling optimistic, following a budget which saw money for extra paramedics.

“I’m hopeful that Iluka may be able to get a full-blown ambulance station in the future.”

“This meeting is to inform the community about that optimism and also to look at building some resilience in the community by looking at other option that we can provide.”

Among the interim options for consideration, is a community first-responder program.

South-West Rocks previously implemented one and now has its own station.
