NEWCASTLE SENT PACKING AT RUGBY LEAGUE COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Newcastle has been sent packing from rugby league’s Country Championships.

The men’s side was dusted up 44 to 16 by the North Coast.

The visitors racing out to a 22-nil lead early in the first half, leaving the new-look rep side, now comprised of players from the Newcastle and Hunter competition, playing catch-up.

The ladies league tag team was also eliminated, going down 20 to 6, at the hands of the Central Coast.
