LABOR PROMISES MONEY FOR HUNTER ROADS

11 days out from the state election and the New South Wales Opposition is spending up big on road funding promises.

It has a $303-million plan to fix roads including a by-pass of Singleton and the duplication of Nelson Bay Road. The Opposition says it can do all this without privatising the electricity network.

The Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Roads made the promises while campaigning in the Port Stephens electorate.

He says Labor will commit $30-million for the planning stage of the Singleton Bypass and $65-million for the next stage of the Nelson Bay Road duplication.

“Labor will upgrade roads and fix congestion points across the Hunter, without privatising the electricity network,” said Mr Daley.
