  1. I am a 19 yr old student who also had issues with Jetstar earlier this year. In late March I was booked to fly with Jetstar from Melbourne to Newcastle at 7.30am. I arrived for check-in when the last call for check-in was called and I raised my hand and called out that I still had to book in, however as the clerk made the last call she informed me that it had closed and I was to miss the flight, after missing the check in by seconds. No matter how much I explained that I needed to be on the flight to sit university exams when i returned home or that there had been a major traffic jam due to heavy rain, Jetstar would not consider letting me check-in for the flight. This resulted in me having to catch a flight to Brisbane, wait in Brisbane for four hours before catching a connection to Newcastle, turning a 90 minute trip into over 7 hours of travel.
I just wanted to comment and let people know that this isnt the first time Jetstar and the Melbourne airport has been unreasonable about check-in times.
