CARMICHAEL ADVANCES TO ROUND THREE ON GOLD COAST

Avoca’s Wade Carmichael has made his way into the third round of the Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast.

The 25-year-old leaving his highest-scoring wave of 6.07 until the dying stages.

Meanwhile, Copacabana’s Matt Wilkinson was eliminated this morning.

His two-wave total of 8.97 not enough to progress against South African Michael February.

Adrian Buchan will take on Jeremy Flores in round three, while Carmichael faces Adriano de Souza.
