A 44-year-old man has been shot in the leg, after his Hunter Valley home was peppered with bullets overnight.
Police were called to the Deschamps Close address in Thornton, just after midnight, after reports several shots had been fired from the street into a home.
The injured man was treated on scene, before being taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
It follows a spate of bikie related shootings in the region.
