The Department of Primary Industries has intercepted a refrigerated vehicle full of poached eastern rock lobsters, near Newcastle.
The vehicle was seized at a Mayfield fast food restaurant, on February 23, following an investigation into the illegal trade of lobsters in the Hunter region.
It is alleged the 40 lobsters, were taken without the fisherman being appropriately endorsed to do so.
The NSW lobster industry is worth $11.5 million per annum.
