WILLIE TONGA SIGNS WITH WESTS NEWCASTLE

There’s huge signing news in Newcastle Rugby League tonight, with former Kangaroos and Maroons centre Willie Tonga headed to Wests on a one-year deal.

It’s a massive coup for the club, and competition – the 34-year-old played almost 200 NRL games before spending the last three years in the English Super League.

Rosellas coach Matt Lantry says the deal unfolded in the space of a few days.

Tonga will arrive in the Hunter within weeks.
