Work has begun on a $200,000 upgrade of the Coffs Harbour Surf Club at Park Beach.
The improvements will include additional storage space, training rooms and public amenities.
Disabled access to the club will also be better thanks to the installation of a lift.
The money has been provided by federal, state and local governments as well as through fundraising by the club.
