$11.2 MILLION DOLLAR NORTHERN RIVERS FLOOD MITIGATION STUDY GRANTED MINISTERIAL APPROVAL

A major research project has been granted ministerial approval.

The $11.2-million Northern Rivers Resilience Initiative will delve into ways of minimising flooding in the region.

It’s being led by the National Recovery Resilience Agency and the CSIRO.

The project has been entirely funded by the Federal Government – which says it will commit a further $150-million, to carry out works found in the report.

The six-month engagement program will be held across seven LGA’s in the region.
