IDENTITY OF PEDESTRIAN STRUCK AND KILLED BY A CAR REMAINS A MYSTERY

Police have renewed appeals to identify a pedestrian, who died when he was struck by a car at Port Stephens over the weekend.

The man, believed to be aged in his 60’s, passed away at the scene after he was hit by a Toyota Camry on Nelson Bay Road at Fullerton Cove, just after 9pm on Saturday.

The 19-year-old female driver was uninjured, but was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Police are yet to identify the man and are appealing for public assistance.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance with balding grey hair, and was wearing a dark blue jumper, black shorts, along with black socks and thongs.

At the time, he was carrying only a small amount of cash, along with a receipt from a Stockton supermarket.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
