An 18-year-old man has been charged following an alleged assault and robbery in Newcastle.
Around 12.20am yesterday, a 23-year-old man exited a bus on Maitland Road, Mayfield East.
Police will allege a man approached the 23-year-old and demanded his wallet.
The man then allegedly punched him in the face before he fled with his backpack.
The 18-year-old was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
