INFORMATION SOUGHT INTO BUSHFIRE CAUSE

Police are investigating the cause of a fire that came dangerously close to damaging properties on the Central Coast yesterday.

Shortly after 4pm, Fire & Rescue NSW responded to reports of a bushfire in the Brisbane Water National Park, about 200 meters from Burdett Place.

The blaze burned through approximately three hectares of bushland, with the fire eventually brought under control with assistance from the Rural Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife crews.

No homes were damaged and no one was injured, but the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Police say that a number of local residents have provided information concerning four boys that were seen in the area at the time, and they would like to speak with anyone who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
