POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION FOLLOWING ASSAULT
A 35-year-old man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital, after he was assaulted near Newcastle in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police say he left a hotel on Beaumont Street at Hamilton, before an argument broke out with another man on Cleary Street.
The 35-year-old was assaulted and suffered head injuries.
Police would like to speak to a man described as being Caucasian and aged in his 20s.
He was wearing jeans, a t-shirt and a black jacket at the time.
“We’re appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Beaumont Street and Cleary Street about 2:30 on Friday morning and witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Newcastle detectives,” said Inspector Michael Gorman from Newcastle Police.
