Police are searching for a man after two children were approached in the Lake Macquarie region yesterday.
About 5.30pm the 5-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were playing at a boat ramp on Ungala Street at Blacksmiths, when a man started talking to them.
Police say the children didn’t speak to him and walked away.
Officers say he arrived in a silver 1995 Holden Commodore station wagon, bearing South Australia license plates.
He’s described as being aged in his 50s, approximately 175cm tall, thin build with an olive complexion, brown eyes and balding grey hair.
This incident has prompted police to encourage parents to discuss the ‘stranger danger’ messages with their children.
